Dry Needling.
Dry needling is a technique used widely by physiotherapists around the world to treat muscle aches and pain. It involves the insertion of acupuncture needles into tight or painful areas of muscle known as myofascial trigger points and has been proven to reduce pain, improve joint range of motion and improve muscle activation and strength.
Dry needling differs to acupuncture, in that it is based on western medicine principles. Whereas Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupuncture is based on inserting the needles into specific points to improve the flow of energy (known as āQiā) through the body. This free flow of Qi allows the balance between Yin and Yang.
